City of Trenton Announces Expungement Information Session and Reentry Resource Fair
No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve a fresh start in life. While it may be easy to define a person by what they’ve done in the past, there is nothing more freeing than to take accountability and set off on a brighter path in the future. For those remerging society after a time of incarceration, it can be difficult to get reacclimatized to reentry. However, with the right tools and resources in place, a clean slate can easily be catalyzed to a prosperous and plentiful period ahead. If you or a loved one has been impacted by incarceration and is now in the process of reentering society, you are encouraged to come out to the City of Trenton’s upcoming Expungement Information Sessions and Reentry Resource Fair.
On Tuesday, May 7th, the City of Trenton’s Office of Reentry Services will be hosting a Expungement Information Sessions and Reentry Resource Fair. This free and informative event is a wonderful resource for anyone either currently going through reentry or those who have prior charges and want to learn more about the expungement process. The fair will be held from 10am to 1pm at Mercer County Community College’s James Kearney Campus, located in the heart of Downtown Trenton at 102 N Broad St, Trenton, NJ 08608. This event is free to attend, so all are welcome to take advantage of this important resource. Support for this program is provided by the City of Trenton, New Jersey Courts, and Central Jersey Legal Services, Inc.
The Expungement Information Session will be presented by a number of knowledge panelists, including representatives from Central Jersey Legal Services, Mercer County Superior Court – Criminal Division, Mercer County Superior Court – Ombudsman’s Office, and the Office of the Municipal Prosecutor. Throughout the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about a variety of relevant topics, including:
- What types of charges can be expunged
- How to file for expungement
- How much does an expungement cost
- How to link with reentry resources
All this and more, this life-changing afternoon is certain to be an educational and empowering day of discussion.
