Trenton City Museum to Host Family Doll Making Workshop

Creativity is connective. No matter your age or stage or life, using our hands and engaging our minds empowers us to embark on new experiences and embrace our inner child. When it comes to spending the day with your family, there’s few things sweeter than putting your heads together for a playful new project. And if your crew is on the hunt for an unforgettable day of fun for the whole family, the Trenton City Museum has you covered with this weekend’s upcoming doll making workshop.

On Sunday, April 7th, the Trenton City Museum will be hosting a Family Doll Making Workshop. This hands-on seminar will take place from 1pm to 3pm at the Trenton City Museum’s Ellarslie Mansion, located at 299 Parkside Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. This is an all-ages event, so guests big and small are invited to come along to be a part of the fun. Your instructor for the afternoon will be Beverly Keese-Kelley, a local artist who will walk you through the ins and outs of designing your own doll. The upcoming workshop is completely free to attend, however space is limited, so advanced registration is required. You can enroll you and your family for the upcoming afternoon of fun on SignUpGenius, linked here: SignUpGenius – Doll Making Workshop. Please note that if you do plan on bringing your children, they must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Dolls are a delightful way for kiddos and grownups alike to engage in some imaginative play, and now you’re invited to create your very own! At the workshop, the Trenton City Museum will provide guests with a number of upcycled materials which will be transformed into an epic homemade toy. Through the afternoon, Ms. Keese-Kelley will be working alongside participants to help make vision come to life. At the conclusion of the workshop, families will have the opportunity to bring their doll homes and have the opportunity to hold onto this treasured memory for years to come.

This workshop is presented by the Trenton City Museum, a must-see destination for arts and culture in the Capital City.
