On Saturday, February 10th, the New Jersey State Museum will be hosting February’s edition of Small Explorers, “Eric Carle’s Art and Music”. Throughout the day, you and your little learner will have the opportunity to explore the works of Eric Carle and take a deep dive into the universe of his creations. The NJSM will be hosting a number of 45-minute sessions for families to choose from, including a 9:45am and 12:15pm. The 11am slots have already filled up, so be sure to snag your spot now while openings are still available! The day’s fun will kick off with a reading of “I See a Song” by Eric Carle. This musical marvel takes young readers on a wordless journey through the transformative nature of music. A vibrant world of color, whimsy, and fun, this enchanting read-through brings the magical power of song to life. Eric Carle, a prolific children’s author, is renowned for his poetic use of themes such as nature, animals, and the environment, helping to connect kiddos to the wide world around them. After the reading, guests will have the opportunity to explore the museum and see if they can spot some of the critters discussed in Carle’s books. The day will conclude with some hands-on crafts and activities scored with a soundtrack of song to help your young artists get inspired. This afternoon introduces the intersection of art and music to little learners, opening up a brand new world of beauty to discover.
