Attention all Trentonians – are you a passionate about the environment, combating climate change, and learning more about the green jobs industry? If so, you’re the perfect candidate for the Trenton Climate Corps!

The Trenton Climates Corps, built upon the existing infrastructure of Isles’ existing youth and environmental services, exists to help combat the climate and youth crises currently facing our community. As we seek to build a world that is better-equipped to handle the ebb and flow of an ever-changing environment, equipping the next generation of skilled workers with the tools needed to combat these changes will be an invaluable investment in maintaining and improving quality of life in the Capital City and beyond. The Trenton Climate Corps partners with a variety of residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to offer empowering youth programming, increasing the sustainability and climate resiliency of the City and its residents along the way.

The ideal candidate for the Trenton Climate Corps must be at least 17 years old, hold a high school diploma, and have an interest in green jobs and environmental work. Participating members of the Trenton Climate Corps will receive $17 an hour for their participation. As a member of the Trenton Climate Corps, you will receive 35 hours a week of paid training and work experience in a number of different fields. Some of the many areas covered throughout your training will include community forestry, stormwater management, community agriculture, and energy efficiency and weatherization. By participating in the Trenton Climate Corps, you will not just have the chance to gain marketable skills; you will play a fundamental role in equipping the Trenton community for climate change resiliency both now and in the years to come.

This opportunity will require the ability to work independently, problem solve, and evaluate situations and adjust accordingly. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to complete certifications, have access to Isles financial and personal development programs, and learn different skills in the many sustainability related fields. The term for this program will run full time through November or when members complete the 675 hr. commitment.
