Mastering Medicare with the NJSL

Mastering Medicare with the NJSL

If your 65th birthday is coming up, chances are you have Medicare on your mind. Whether you’re a recent retiree or looking to switch coverage, with autumn officially upon us, open enrollment is right around the corner. Like many Americans, you may have questions about what services are provided, how to switch from your current coverage, and what you can expect during the registration process. All these and more will be answered at the New Jersey State Library’s upcoming webinar, “Introduction to Medicare.”

On Thursday, November 2nd, you are invited to join the New Jersey State Library for a meaningful conversation on the basics of Medicare. This event will be held virtually, so whether you’re rooted here in Trenton or all over the Garden State, all are welcome to participate. There is no cost to register. If you do plan on tuning into the webinar, please be sure to register in advance by enrolling here: Register – NJSL. The conversation will be held from 12 pm to 1 pm, setting the stage for an enlightening afternoon of education.

During the seminar, guests can learn the basics of Medicare directly from a SHIP counselor. Guests will also be able to ask any questions and clarify some of the confusion surrounding the process. There is a plethora of Medicare misinformation scattered across the Internet, so Medicare recipients must be able to access free, unbiased, and accurate information straight from the source. Knowledge is power, and this conversation is a surefire way to guarantee that you’ve got the facts on your side when navigating the Medicare experience.

Counselors will lead the discussion for the day from the Mercer County State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). These individuals are available to offer free assistance to any NJ Medicare recipients. These counselors also serve as a conduit to help address any issues with Medicare or supplemental insurance, as well as offer tips and advice to those with questions about their coverage. If you’re interested in speaking with one of these counselors and want to schedule an appointment, please get in touch with Kelly Ott, SHIP Coordinator, at (609) 273-0588 or email kott@Chsofnj.org for additional information.

For more information on this and other upcoming events, please check out the New Jersey State Library’s website, linked here: NJSL – Home. If you have any questions or need assistance with registration, please get in touch with the NJSL team at (609) 278-2640 for additional information. Medicare enrollment can be a daunting task, but with the right tips and tools in place, you’ll be registered and ready in no time.
