TESU Foundation Celebrates Inaugural TESU Impact Awards
Thomas Edison State University Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the mission of TESU by inspiring philanthropic support for key strategic initiatives that benefit students, is delighted to announce the success of the inaugural TESU Impact Awards on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023. The event took place at Pruitt Hall on the TESU campus, marking an exciting evolution from the Foundation’s traditional Gala.
The TESU Impact Awards event was a remarkable celebration of the University’s commitment to education and the tremendous impact it has had on the community. After 31 years of hosting the Grand Ball Gala, the event’s primary goal remained unchanged: to provide a special evening of purpose that recognizes outstanding honorees celebrates TESU’s influence, and raises vital funds to support the University’s mission.
This year’s TESU Impact Awards featured three esteemed honorees, each of whom has made a significant impact on both the University and the community:
Dr. Ahmed Azmy, president of Azmy Architects and a long-serving TESU Foundation Board member, was recognized for his unwavering dedication to the University and his instrumental role in shaping its future.
Mr. Frank Clyburn, CEO of IFF and former TESU chair of the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board member, received recognition for his leadership and commitment to advancing the University’s mission.
Ms. Jeannine LaRue, senior vice president of the Zita Group, was honored for her profound impact and outstanding contributions to the community and her dedicated efforts in supporting TESU’s mission.
The TESU Impact Awards event successfully brought together TESU’s valued supporters, distinguished honorees, and community leaders for an evening of celebration and philanthropy. The event marked a new chapter in the Foundation’s history, highlighting its commitment to recognizing those who have helped make a lasting impact on education and the community. More than 150 people attended the event on the TESU campus while hundreds more watched the livestream. Approximately $80,000 was raised. This money will play a crucial role in supporting the University’s priority initiatives.
