City of Trenton Announces Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It’s October, and it’s officially time to think pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With over 2.3 million people diagnosed globally each year, every one of us likely has a story with this disease. Whether you or a loved one have been impacted, there is no doubt that a fight with this disease is the fight of a true warrior. To honor those in the fight against breast cancer, the City of Trenton invites you to be a part of this year’s Pink Out.

On Saturday, October 14th, you and your family are invited to the City of Trenton for a breast cancer awareness walk and ceremony. The festivities will kick off at 2:30 p.m. at the New Jersey State Museum at 205 W State St, Trenton, NJ 08608. Come donned in pink and ready to take a stroll because participants will be walking from the museum to the steps of City Hall. Upon the walk’s conclusion, guests will be welcomed to Trenton City Hall for a breast cancer awareness ceremony with guest speakers. With the city lighting up with pink all over the community, there’s no doubt this event will serve as a great reminder of what’s important this October.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a month-long effort to increase the conversation surrounding preventing, treating, and curing breast cancer. From increased screening opportunities to fundraising for cancer research and more, there are steps that every one of us can take to lessen the impact of this disease. Both this month and every month, it is critical to work with a healthcare provider to ensure that you are up-to-date on screenings and taking the steps you need to stay on top of your health. You can also show your support this month by participating in breast cancer awareness events, donating to research institutions, and representing the cause in your favorite pink apparel. If you’d like to learn more about getting involved, please visit the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s website here: NBCF – Home.

If you’re ready to join the fight, you won’t want to miss Trenton’s Pink Out. If you have any questions or want to learn more before the event, please get in touch with Trenton’s Department of Parks, Natural Resources, and Culture at (609) 989-3369 for additional details.
