Community Cleanup Coming to the North Ward
Attention all residents of the North Ward – your time has finally come!
Throughout August, the City of Trenton has been conducting a community-wide cleanup, and it is now time for the North Ward to participate. Throughout the next few days, residents of the North Ward should take stock of any waste they may not typically be able to discard to be ready for collection. On Saturday, August 26th, a collection truck will pass through the community for pickup. All items must be in your standard garbage collection area by 7 a.m. Saturday. The City also requests that any discarded items not be put out for collection until the night before.
The pickup includes discarded furniture, refrigerators, and smaller articles. Wood (separate clean from painted) and tree branches no more than four feet long and tied in bundles of no more than 35 lbs. will also be collected. Please note that the trucks will only pass through the neighborhood once, so all items must be ready for collection before pickup
The City will not pick up tires, bricks, concrete, and construction debris. These materials are the responsibility of the owner or contractor. Additionally, please be aware that the clean-up does not apply to vacant houses, which must be cleaned at the owner’s expense. Electronic devices, such as televisions, laptops, etc., are also not eligible for pickup under the Electronic Waste Management Act. If you have e-waste in need of disposal, please get in touch with the Mercer County Improvement Authority at 609-278-8086 to learn how to discard these items. For additional details, please call the Department of Public Works at 609-989-3151.
These cleanups have been a priority for Trentonians for some time, and the City of Trenton is answering the call to help meet the needs of its residents. Much appreciation to Mayor Gusciora, City of Trenton Department of Public Works, and the Department of Recreation, Natural Resources & Culture for providing these in-demand services and helping us keep our communities clean and safe, one ward at a time. Don’t miss the opportunity to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and participate in this community cleanup!
