If you’re starting to get prepared  for the upcoming school year but aren’t quite sure where to start, Trenton Public Schools are here to give you a leg-up with their 8th annual Back to School Extravaganza.

On Friday, August 25th, Join the Trenton Public School District for a day of celebrating all things pertaining to the new school year. The event will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Trenton Board of Education, located at 108 North Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08609. At the event, families will have the opportunity to access a number of back to school essentials, including free school supplies, school uniforms, and more. Students will also be able to access free vaccination services as well as free on-site health screenings, such as eye exams, dental check-ups, and more. Offerings will be available on a first come, first served basis. With new school gear in hand and a healthy mind and body, your scholar will be able to handle anything this upcoming school year throws their way!

Any parent or guardian will tell you how costly the new school year can be – the average family spends over $1,000 per year! Between new school supplies, fees, and other unexpected costs, this time of year can leave families scratching their heads wondering where this month’s budget went. This is of particular concern to a community like Trenton, where many of its residents are living below the poverty line.
