New Jersey State Library to Host How-To Grant Funding Webinar

Grant funding is the lifeblood of charities, non-profits, and more, but knowing where to start when identifying funding cannot be easy. With hundreds of opportunities, applications, and requirements, the grant-writing and research process is no small task. Thankfully, the New Jersey State Library is here to provide users with abundant resources to access the funds they need. One such resource is the Foundation Directory, which connects New Jerseyans with thousands of grant options. Now, with some exciting new updates, the Foundation Directory is back and better than ever.

To discuss some of these exciting changes and highlight how to utilize the directory, the New Jersey State Library will host a free webinar on Tuesday, February 21st. The webinar will take place on Zoom from 12:00-1:00 pm. If you’re interested in attending, registration for the call is available here: Zoom – Register. Those who participate in the live webinar will be provided login credentials to use the Foundation Directory remotely for 48 hours following the conclusion of the presentation.

This free webinar will give grant researchers a thorough overview of the new-and-improved Foundation Directory. Some of the topics you can look forward to discussing include the following:

  • How to access the Foundation Directory database
  • Perform searches to find prospective grant funders for your organization.
  • Evaluate grantmaker profiles to find funding matches.
  • Save grantmaker information for later reference.

Both individuals and non-profits can stand to benefit from this fantastic resource, so all are encouraged to attend.

Located on level 4 of the New Jersey State Library, the Funding Information Center is a  one-stop shop for grants. The information center offers an abundance of in-person and virtual materials, making it the perfect resource for any grant-seeker. The Foundation Directory, one of the center’s premier resources, is a tool for professionals to access information on 240,000+ U.S. foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities. In addition, the directory offers links to current foundation 990-PF tax returns. Users can search by name, EIN, location, fields of interest, types of support, and more. The directory is updated weekly, meaning new opportunities are always becoming available.

The library is proud to offer training, one-on-one tutorials, group classes, and an expansive collection of over 1,000 print resources. The print collection includes philanthropy-related periodicals, books about grant-writing, and more. If you have any questions regarding accessing these potent resources, please get in touch with NJSL’s Business and Funding Information Librarian, Leigh Clark, at (609) 278-2640 X 158 or lclark@njstatelib.org for additional details.

This upcoming webinar is part of the fantastic educational offerings the New Jersey State Library hosts monthly. In addition, NJSL regularly hosts talks on wellness, history, professional skills, and more, meaning there’s a session available for every kind of learner.
