Whether you spend your days flying high on the trapeze, clowning around, or becoming the next Houdini, the Trenton Circus Squad needs YOU to bring the magic of the circus to life this summer.

The Trenton Circus Squad recently announced a call for new performers to join the crew. To audition, you must be between 18-26 and be able to assist in the setup of a circus show and a big top tent. You must submit an application and audition tape by February 1st. Applications are available online here: Apply – Trenton Circus Squad. Applications include basic details like your contact information, details on your circus background, a 3-5 minute audition video, and confirmed available times for a Zoom interview. In your audition video, you may have a partner if both individuals are auditioning and it is a pair act, i.e., duo or hand-to-hand trapeze. Synchronized fabric is not permitted.

Once the application process is completed, applicants can expect to hear back between February 15th-20th. Once on the team, performers will be paid no less than $500 per performance week. In addition to compensation, selected performers will receive housing and food throughout the performance weeks. Performers will be able to bring the big top across New Jersey throughout the summer of 2023. In addition to performing shows across the Garden State, performers will also have the opportunity to host workshops in Camden and Asbury Park. Including rehearsal, the tour will take place from June 26th through July 30th, 2023. The Trenton Circus Squad is a non-profit organization bringing the joy of circus artistry to youth across Mercer County. Through their free circus programs, young performers can learn valuable skills like cooperation, tenacity, and service to their community. In addition, youth can expect to improve their physical and life skills and connect with their peers. The experience allows squad members to push themselves to the limit in a judgment-free zone.
