Trenton Branch NAACP to Host 2nd Annual Holiday Soiree
With the season already underway, now’s the perfect time to start getting into the holiday spirit! If you’re looking for a reason to celebrate and want to support a fantastic cause along the way, the Trenton Branch NAACP’s Holiday Soiree is the perfect place to start.
On December 17th, the Trenton Branch NAACP will be hosting its 2nd annual holiday celebration. The event will be hosted at the historic Masonic Temple (100 Barrack St., Trenton, NJ) from 5 pm-9 pm. If you’re interested in attending, guests can purchase tickets online for $45/person here: Holiday Soiree – Eventbrite. Physical tickets can also be purchased by calling the Trenton Branch NAACP at 609-392-6772 or trentonbranchnaacp@gmail.com. Guests are also encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy or book, which will be gifted to a local child in need.
Attendees can look forward to an inspiring evening of delicious food, great music, and even better conversation. Music will be provided by DJ Kevin McAllister, while great eats and a cash bar will be provided by Trenton’s own 1911 Smokehouse. If you’re looking to knock out some of your holiday shopping, the Holiday Soiree will also have a variety of vendors present. If you’re looking for just the right gift for a loved one, the local businesses represented at the Holiday Soiree are certain to wow everyone on your nice list. If you’re hoping for a little something special for yourself too, not to worry! Guests will also be eligible for a variety of door prizes that will be distributed throughout the evening.
This year’s soiree has two major themes: This is Power and It Takes a Village. True to this collaborative ethos, the Trenton Branch NAACP has joined forces with Children’s Futures, a significant promoter of child wellness and family development within Trenton and the surrounding region. Children’s Futures is a non-profit founded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to expand health and wellness education for families to ward off health and social problems that may prove to be a burden long term. Both the Trenton Branch NAACP and Children’s Futures provide invaluable support to the Trenton community, so the partnership is a perfect match.
This year, the soiree will honor local veterans and celebrate their contributions to their personal, professional, and civic lives. For those who have selflessly sacrificed for our freedom, events such as these allow the community to say thank you to those who have served. As an organization, the NAACP is no stranger to giving back – its commitment to service and community development shines through, both in the upcoming event and throughout the organization’s work as a whole.
The Trenton Branch NAACP is the local branch of the NAACP, an organization committed to the elimination of discrimination and assuring that all individuals have access to equal rights regardless of their race. Per the NAACP’s mission statement, the organization exists “to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons”. Since the Trenton Branch was formed, they have continued to advance equality and justice throughout our community. They have forged meaningful partnerships with other like-minded stakeholders to advance their mission, making them a force for positive change in the region.
If you’re interested in attending this festive celebration, be sure to get your hands on tickets as soon as possible. If you have any questions before the soiree, please contact the Trenton Branch NAACP at 609-392-6772 or trentonbranchnaacp@gmail.com.
