Trenton Health Team Seeks a Chief Program Officer

Trenton Health Team is seeking a creative and passionate operational leader with a proven track record to join its Senior Leadership team as Chief Program Officer (CPO).

As a partner and advisor to the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees, the CPO will have operational accountability for all program areas. Reporting to the Executive Director, they will be an integral member of the six-person Senior Leadership team and will be responsible for directing the development, implementation and monitoring across programs and initiatives.

The CPO will identify opportunities for program growth in areas of strategic community impact, capacity building, technical assistance, evaluation, and efficient management. Responsibility in this role includes developing deep knowledge of each program, how it operates, how it can be improved, and the underlying business plan to support sustainability. They will work closely with peers to ensure synergies and collaborative successes across programmatic activities.

In addition to program leadership and management, the CPO will be responsible for staff development and sustaining successful external relationships. The CPO will often be called upon to “tell the stories” of THT’s work in various settings and will represent THT on a local, regional, and national basis.

Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the CPO will interact directly with members of the THT Board, funders, and agency collaborators. The CPO directly supervises and leads three directors and their teams (current total of 15 direct and indirect reports) with additional matrix reports as needed.

The CPO will have a deep understanding of how historical systems of inequity influence health outcomes and how to design and implement innovative solutions to overcome those barriers.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong entrepreneurial skill set and proven record of developing successful partnerships, creative programming, and effective community engagement strategies. They should have demonstrated success in the ability to identify and respond to current and emerging health issues faced by communities like Trenton.
