Foundation Academies Celebrates 100% College Acceptance for Class of 2022

Foundation Academies is inviting the Trenton community to congratulate members of the Class of ’22 as they share future plans and goals with family, friends and faculty during  a “Senior Signing Day” celebration on June 8, 2022.

Foundation Academies confirmed 100% college acceptance for all graduating seniors for the eighth year in a row. By tradition, FA seniors announce their “next steps” alongside family and friends during the annual Senior Signing Day event, held this year in FA Collegiate Athletic Center.

Gathering in person after two years of pandemic restrictions will make this event extra-special, said Collegiate Principal-in-Residence Isabel Goss. “These seniors have persevered through challenging circumstances to reach their goals. I am so proud of who they are – and who they will become.”

The Foundation Academy Collegiate Class of 2022 includes more than 70 students, all living in Trenton. Every graduating senior has been accepted into a college or university, including New Jersey Institute of Technology, Howard University, The Juilliard School, Harvard University, The College of New Jersey and Mercer County Community College among others.  “These students are making Trenton proud and proving that hard work pays off,” said Foundation Academies Chief Academic Officer Sheria McRae. “I will miss each of them and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.”

McRae will become Chief Executive Officer at Foundation Academies in July, when Graig Weiss steps down after 13 years of leading the school. McRae joined FA in 2010. She is a Trenton native who lives in the city, a Teach for America alumna and a former English teacher.

Senior Signing Day is supported by the nonprofit Friends of Foundation Academies.  Community organizations, business owners and residents wishing to congratulate these students may join a virtual “cheering section” and be listed in the Signing Day program for a tax-deductible donation of $50 to support classroom resources. Donate here to join the cheering section“We at CBIZ Borden Perlman are thrilled to support the scholars of Foundation Academy Collegiate as they sign on to their important next steps in college and careers,” said Jeffrey Perlman, President, Northeast Region, CBIZ Perlman. “We commend the hard work of the students, their families, and the staff of Foundation Academies as we celebrate their achievements together.” Kathleen Streicher, FA  Advancement Director and Executive Director of Friends of FA, thanked CBIZ Perlman, and other business supporters, including Spring, Hatfield Schwartz Law Group, Bits N’ Pieces, Karl Weidel Insurance, Home Rubber Company, Boutique by Jules, E& Kay’s Transportation, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.- Trenton Sigmas. “It means so much for our seniors to know the entire community stands behind them as they take the next steps in their education journey,” Streicher said. “We are so grateful.”
