Art All Day and Ciclovia: Back in Trenton on September 18th

Trenton Art All Day is partnering again with Ciclovia to bring socially distanced artwork and activities to the city of Trenton. As Trenton’s open studio tour and creative showcase, Art All Day provides a unique opportunity to experience Trenton as a hub of art studios, galleries, and creative businesses. The free public event will happen rain or shine and will take place on Saturday, September 18th, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at various locations throughout the city.

Massive art and outdoor activities are planned, as well as walking and bike tours for all abilities. Ciclovia will be at South Warren Street with Trenton Downtown Association and Breunig Ave Park as well as St. Joe’s Ave with the East Trenton Collaborative. Art All Day sites will include Artworks and sites all over the city.

Residents and onlookers will be able to walk across Trenton’s streets and enjoy creative pieces from city artists. “This is the first year we’re looking to have active multiple open streets, and we are looking to involve as many local organizations as we can in this fun, family-friendly event,” explained in a press release.

The Trenton Downtown Association and The East Trenton Collaborative will be closing down Lafayette Street and one block on St. Joe to have a community festival with outdoor activities and information tables. This will be on top of open studios across the city.

“We’ll have several kinds of old favorites, “explained Lauren Otis, Executive Director of Artworks. “[The Trenton] freedom skate and Trenton Circus Squad at the Roebling Wire Works,  The Trenton Community A-team will also be a site at 51 North Stockton street.”

Due to COVID-19, most of the festival will be held outside. “This is the second year that artworks will partner with Trenton Ciclovia, an open streets event,” explained Otis. “We have a bunch of tours, everything from walking tours, bike tours, to trolley tours.”

All of the tours are free, guests will have to register online for the Trolley tours as there is limited spacing. To register please go to https://www.artallday.artworkstrenton.org/tours

Otis explained that there would also be two new sites for guests to explore: the Fishbowl Atelier on South Broad and the Colmado Music Group performing at the studio of Musician Josue Lora, who will also be showing off photography work by Alicea Eskeitz.

Otis explained that Art All Day had started in 2012 because of the collective creativity in the city of Trenton. “There were arts collectives; there were individual artists with studios, there were our galleries, and there were creative businesses. There was a lot going on. We had artwork that the outside world really didn’t see,” Otis said.

Art all day is taking place in Trenton from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 18th exhibiting art and community activities across the city. For more information head to https://www.artallday.artworkstrenton.org.
