Fall Workshop Aims to Build an Empowered Community
The Smith Family Foundation is offering its Fall Community Workshop for grassroots organizations and dedicated individuals who are passionate about serving the city of Trenton. The registration deadline for the October 2020 5-week course is September 25. Classes meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month beginning on October 13, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The community empowerment workshop, now in its fourth year, is designed to help both grassroots non-profit leadership and concerned citizens in the community become more active in their mission as it pertains to bettering the city. Community empowerment refers to the process of enabling communities to increase control over their lives by working to improve concerns, increasing interests, and establishing the city’s identity from within the city limits.
Class size will be limited to no more than 10-15 people and safety and social distancing measures will be in effect. For more information contact Tara Butler, Director of Community Engagement at (609) 888-6300, (609) 672-8914 or tbutler@sffnj.org.
