HomeWorks is Offering Three Paid Positions to Trentonians Looking for Employment

HomeWorks, a free after-school residential program for high school girls, is looking to fill three void positions at their Trenton location before September 1st. The positions include Business and Operations Manager, House Sister, and Driver. For each position (with the exception of Driver) there are benefits being offered as well as mandatory training each employee will be required to attend. The Business and Operations Manager will oversee and assist with aspects of both HomeWorks’ administrative team and the HomeWorks’ house team. In conjunction you will also directly assist the Executive Director with HomeWorks’ organizational development, working on projects such as logical models, strategic planning, business plans, and more. Dates of dedication are as follows: From September 2020 until COVID-19 guidelines allow HomeWorks to operate our residential program, the Business and Operations Manager will work from 9 .a.m. to 5 p.m. virtually and at the HomeWorks location. You will also occasionally assist with bus transportation from 7:30 a.m. -9 a.m., and/or 5-6:30 p.m. Monday to Fridays. Once COVID-19 guidelines allow HomeWorks to operate our residential program, the Business and Operations Managers’ hours may be subject to change. Terms of compensation are as follows: Living Allowance- $21,000 – $28,000 for Full-Time. HomeWorks will also provide all dinner meals from Monday to Thursday (this position does not include housing). The House Sister will work closely with the House-Mom to govern the HomeWorks residential house. In conjunction you will also serve as a role model that our scholars can look up to and confide in, assist the House-Mom with leading scholars though HomeWorks programming and be expected to support the House-Mom when she responds to medical and personal emergencies. Overall, the House Sister is a surrogate older sister that can guide the scholars through HomeWorks and through their personal lives. During their adapted schedule, you will work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays beginning September 1, 2020 and concluding whenever their regularly scheduled programming begins. With the Driver position, given COVID-19 guidelines and procedures, HomeWorks will not operate as planned this Fall 2020. Instead, they plan to provide an optional, safe classroom for HomeWorks scholars to attend virtual school in addition to our adapted, in-person HomeWorks programming. Your responsibilities will include transporting 10 – 12 scholars and staff to and from their individual residence and the HomeWorks office located in Ewing. Drivers will also assist clients (i.e.: seating, restraints, special equipment, etc.) for the purpose of providing safe loading and unloading from vehicles including both emergency situations and normal transport and fuel assigned vehicles for the purpose of maintaining it in a safe operating condition. Requirements for this position are as follows: Drivers must have a valid, non-expired Commercial Driver’s License, be able to pass a background check, have a clean driving record and have experience transporting children and youth. Drivers will work from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. – Monday – Friday as well as from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.- Monday – Friday (In total, you will work an average of 3 hours per day). HomeWorks will pay you a total of $30 per morning and evening transportation, you would also be paid for additional evening roundtrips planned around your schedule.
