Trenton Children’s Chorus Announces One Voice Virtual Event Coming in September

With a mission that sets out to “empower the academic, social, and spiritual lives of children through artistry in music,” Trenton Children’s Chorus (TCC) will host it’s 11th annual One Voice Benefit virtually on Friday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m.

Opened in 1989, Trenton Children’s Chorus holds a vision that every child’s voice has a place in the world and that it is important to serve the youth residing in the Trenton community so that they are heard and understood. Transforming the lives of many through the special power of choral singing, along with academic resources and a joyful community, Trenton Children’s Chorus has strengthened confidence, built character, and broadened horizons through challenges and opportunities that are fundamental to musical excellence within the youth.

The One Voice Benefit gala, which is set to run for an hour, will feature exciting guest speakers and performers who are Trenton-made, a special TCC family performance, testimonials from choristers ranging from kindergarten to high schoolers, and last but not least a silent auction component.

“Music matters. Our children matter. We are thrilled to be able to continue offering quality music education and opportunities to Trenton youth during such an uncertain time for many families,” says Kate Mulligan, Trenton Children’s Chorus Executive Director. “We hope you will consider joining us on September 25 to witness first-hand the lasting impact TCC has on our children, families, and community.” says Kate Mulligan, Trenton Children’s Chorus Executive Director.

Around for over 30 years, Trenton Children’s Chorus has held many different programs for those in the K-12 level, teaching choral music education through drumming and piano classes, as well as assisting many through learning academy’s for academic support and excellence. Among other services, TCC offers mentorship, SAT and ACT prep, and college financial aid support.

Registration for TCC programs will open after August 1 for the fall semester; an entirely virtual fall semester will offer musical theatre, vocal performances, piano, ukulele, conducting, and drumming courses. TCC will also host a composer-in-residence who will set the poetry of TCC students to music as a special project.
