Dr. Leticia Ferri, Bristol-Myers’ global lead for the Organization for Latino Achievement, has joined the board of Greater Trenton.
Greater Trenton, the nonprofit promoting economic development in New Jersey’s capital, has added a top Bristol-Myers Squibb executive to its board of directors.
Dr. Leticia Ferri, Bristol-Myers’ global lead for the Organization for Latino Achievement, will also serve as co-chair of Greater Trenton’s Caren Franzini Capital City Award Event Committee, the organization said in a news release Tuesday.
“I’ve always believed that partnering with great organizations and people is critical to any successful endeavor,” she said in a statement. “I am so honored to join Greater Trenton’s board of directors to help catalyze economic development efforts in Trenton, and to also assist in leading the organization’s Caren Franzini Capital City Award Celebration Committee.”
In addition to leading Bristol-Myers’ OLA, Ferri has worked as a physician in the pharmaceutical industry in the U.S. and elsewhere, as a physician scientist in academia and as a clinician.
“We’re so pleased and excited to welcome Leticia Ferri,” Greater Trenton Chair Kevin Cummings, who is chairman and CEO of Investors Bank, said in a prepared statement. “… She brings tremendous experience and diverse perspectives to a dynamic group of leaders working together to showcase tremendous assets, build strong collaborations and partnerships, and support economic development projects of consequence throughout New Jersey’s capital city.”
Ferri’s work at Bristol-Myers focuses on enhancing business performance by supporting company objectives and providing a platform to increase cultural awareness — including enhancing understanding of how Latinos can add value to the business, creating networking and leadership development opportunities and helping Bristol-Myers support community organizations representing the Latino community.
“Her passion for education, diversity and inclusion speaks to the core of who we are as an organization and to all that we individually and collectively aspire to be,” Greater Trenton CEO George Sowa said in a statement.
