Trenton Matters, You Matter and We Stand with You in the Fight for Humanity

In this time of despair for black and brown communities across the nation who remain troubled by the despicable actions that led to the senseless death of George Floyd, we stand with you. For those who continue to grapple with inequality and injustice, we stand with you. And for those who show their resolve to come together in peace and unity across the city of Trenton, our nation and the world, we stand with you.
Regardless of race, gender, creed, ethnicity, skin color or socioeconomic status, every single life is important – and every person has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Systemic inequalities from workforce disparities to the disproportionate number of minorities dying at the hands of COVID-19, continues to fill a tinder box of racial and social injustice in our country.
As communities across America go through the healing process, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Floyd family and to all of those whose hearts are heavy during these difficult times.
Greater Trenton’s guiding principles include honoring our diverse community, valuing inclusion, and believing wholeheartedly that creating equitable opportunities for everyone in Trenton will lead to a brighter future as we build on the collective strengths of our residents, institutions and establishments.
As part of our utilization of private funding and a network of collaborative relationships to advance economic revitalization in New Jersey’s capital city, we look for every opportunity to celebrate and embrace the city’s diversity, culture, arts, history, food – and everything else that makes Trenton a great place to live, work, play, and do business.
From assisting Trenton residents and businesses impacted by COVID-19 to creating opportunities through high school internship programs to spreading positive narratives about our multifaceted community through TrentonDaily, our core mission is to always embrace diversity and build equity for every current and future Trentonian.
