Mercer County Receives Nearly $1 Million from DEP to Complete Inclusive Playground at Rosedale Park
On Friday, April 25th, the Murphy Administration announced a massive package of projects being funded from the Department of Environmental Protection. One of these projects included Mercer County’s Complete Inclusive Playground at Rosedale Park.
Upon completion, the park will be completely inclusive, engaging, and ADA accessible in a way that supports sensory play and community engagement for children and caretakers of all abilities.
The proposed improvements include:
- Installation of accessible play equipment & structures, including swings, musical play equipment, chimes, a seesaw, and sensory board elements

Installation of shade structures, benches and a quiet play area

Modifications to the existing restroom to create an ADA Accessible family restroom facility

Addition of ADA access to the site via a walking path

Reconfiguration of the existing parking lot to increase ADA parking accommodations

Installation of native landscaping and fencing surrounding the playground
“I am thrilled that Mercer County will be receiving nearly $1 million allocated under Jake’s Law, which I co-sponsored in the State Assembly, to build a Completely Inclusive Playground at Rosedale Park in Hopewell Township,” said Mercer County Executive Dan Benson. “Every child, regardless of their ability, deserves the joy that comes from spending time at the playground with friends and family, and we expect the new Rosedale Park playground to become a valued destination for families across the County.”
