City of Trenton Announces Winter Break Youth Program
Winter break is almost here, and students all throughout the Trenton community are daydreaming about what their break may bring. From fun-filled holiday celebrations with friends and loved ones to the opportunity to kick back and relax after a hard-working semester, now is the time for our community’s youth to unwind, have fun, and embrace the magic of the holiday season. If you are a Trenton-based family on the hunt for the best way to spend your winter break, the City of Trenton has you covered with a week of merriment and magic at this year’s Winter Break Youth Program.
From Monday, December 23rd through Tuesday, December 31st, the City of Trenton’s Department of Natural Resources, Recreation, and Culture will be hosting the 2024 Winter Break Youth Program. This program, which runs in facilities all throughout the city, offers local families a safe, enriching place to spend the day while school is not in session. As a participant in this year’s Winter Break Youth Program, participating students will have the opportunity to enjoy a number of exhilarating activities, including arts and crafts, physical fitness, field trips, and more. This year’s field trips encompass a number of exciting locations throughout the Garden State, including:
- American Dream Mall: Monday, December 23rd, 2024
- Hershey’s Chocolate World: Friday, December 27th
- Disney on Ice: Monday, December 30th
This program is intended for students ages 6 to 12 in the Trenton community. The program will run Monday through Friday. Please do note that the program will be closed on December 25th and 26th, with programming resuming on Friday, December 27th. The Winter Break Youth Program will be offered at a number of recreational facilities throughout the city, including:
- Sam Naples Center: 611 Chestnut Ave., Trenton, NJ 08611
- West Ward Center: 351 Prospect St., Trenton, NJ 08618
- North Clinton Center: 454 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08638
- Ike Williams Center: 238 Clay St., Trenton, NJ 08611
While this program is free to attend, space is limited, so families are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible. Please note that if your student is already a participant in the Trenton Youth Afterschool Program, they will not need to register to participate in the Winter Break Youth Program.
