Trenton City Museum will host a reception to celebrate the art and artists of the museum’s final new exhibitions of 2024. Admission is free, with donations gratefully welcomed. The two shows in separate galleries throughout the museum’s first floor are “Voices In Color” and “Mother + Son Continued”.
“Voices In Color” features works by artists of the Trenton Community A*Team and curated by Anthony Catanese. Celebrate the unique voices and styles of TCAT artists in a colorful display of artistry that showcases their talent and creativity. This special event is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists, hear their stories, and honor 25 years of TCAT’s mission to amplify the voices of underrepresented creators in our community.
The Trenton City Museum is housed in Ellarslie Mansion, an 1848 Italianate Villa in the heart of Trenton’s historic Cadwalader Park, which was designed by the legendary Frederick Law Olmsted. The building is owned by the City of Trenton and operated by the nonprofit Trenton Museum Society, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023. The museum’s programming explores and celebrates Trenton’s history and culture, showcases contemporary art, artists, and performers, and offers community events, classes, and workshops for all ages. Museum and museum store hours are Thursdays through Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. There is no admission fee, but donations in support of the museum’s mission and programs are welcomed. Learn more at ellarslie.org or 609-989-1191.
