Intrinsic in each human being is the desire to know who we are and from where we came. To look back at our lineage and history is to step back from the present and become a part of something much larger than ourselves. An awareness of our ancestry equips us with historical knowledge, insights into our family’s health, genetics, and more, making it a worthwhile pursuit for anyone with the curiosity to learn more. When first embarking on a genealogical journey, it can be quite intimidating to sift through the seemingly countless records and resources available at your fingertips.
