Explore Solar Winds With “Science Under the Stars”
On Saturday, September 28th, the New Jersey State Museum will be hosting their next installment of the “Science Under the Stars” series, entitled Exploring the Origin and Properties of The Solar Wind. Your host for the afternoon will be Dr. Riddhi Bandyopadhyay of Princeton University. The afternoon’s conversation will take place at 4:15pm at the New Jersey State Museum’s Planetarium, located at 205 W State St, Trenton, NJ 08608. If you plan on driving to the event, there is plenty of free parking available in the NJSM’s parking lots, as well as garage and street parking conveniently located near the Museum.
This event is free to attend; however, space is limited, so advanced registration is required. The afternoon’s discussions will center the role that solar winds play within our universe and how they impact life here on earth. From the magnificent colors of the Aurora Borealis to the dangers of damage done to satellites in space, there are a number of factors one must consider when grappling with the realities of this cosmic phenomena. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the origin and different properties of solar wind using NASA missions.
“Science Under the Stars” is a fun and informative lecture series presented by the New Jersey State Museum which offers guests of all ages and educational levels to step into the world of an astronomer. At each seminar, guests have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of discussion with a subject matter expert regarding some of our universe’s most fascinating subjects. All sessions take place in the New Jersey State Museum’s state of the art Planetarium, which features Ultra-High Resolution 8K, as well as 140 specially-designed reclined seats. This immersive and innovative Planetarium was carefully designed with you in mind to help your imagination take off as you soar through the skies.
