JRH Foundation Celebrates Summer Student Showcase

On Wednesday, August 28th, friends, family, and supports gathered together for the James R. Halsey Foundation for the Art’s 2024 Summer Student Showcase. After many weeks of hard work, hands-on education, and creative vision, these gifted students finally had the opportunity to show off their work at this breathtaking evening of culture and community. Throughout the showcase, guests had the opportunity to enjoy a number of artistic mediums, including photography, acting, and music video production. From moving live performances to walk-through galleries and more, one could not help but be blown away by the devotion and directive vision of these promising young creatives.

Kim Cody, Chief Operations Officer of the James R. Halsey Foundation for the Arts, shared, “The student showcase empowers our youth to shine, offering them a platform to present their acting, photography, and filmmaking talents to family, friends, and the community. We take great pride in celebrating their remarkable achievements.” Continuing, she noted “The James R. Halsey Foundation of the Arts’ summer programs in Acting, Photography, and Music Production provide an invaluable opportunity for youth to stay creative and engaged during the school summer months.”

From the students’ powerful performances to the unyielding dedication of the JRH Foundation’s team, this evening’s showcase produced a palpable sense of love and pride. Far more than just a photograph or a music video, the works of art created by these students represents weeks of devotion, creativity, and collaboration. Nurturing the next generation of Trenton’s creative community is a precious opportunity, empowering these up and coming artists to flourish and thrive. While stewarding these young performers is a tremendous responsibility, it is one the JRH Foundation has gladly taken on, transforming the lives of countless young people in the process.

The James R. Halsey Foundation for the Arts was formed in 2017 to offer youth unparalleled access to arts education and career training opportunities. The JRH Foundation works with students ages 10 through 20 years of age, offering youth a safe environment in which to nurture their creativity and cultivate a love of the arts. The JRH Foundation is a spectacular resource for youth in Trenton and surrounding areas, particularly for those students looking for an outlet who may not be interested in sports. The Foundation’s namesake, James R. Halsey, was a firm believer in working with youth and connecting with young people who may be struggling to fit in. In honor of this legacy, the JRH Foundation works tirelessly to emphasize the unique skills and abilities of each individual student and foster an environment in which are all welcome to blossom and thrive.
