Mayor Reed Gusciora Announces the Results of the North Ward Clean-Up

Mayor Reed Gusciora, joined by Public Works Director Wahab Onitiri, Recreation Director Paul Harris, and members of the public works team, announced the results of the bulk garbage cleanup in the North Ward. From August 5 to August 10, the Public Works team went through the North Ward facilitating the proper disposal and recycling of bulk items such as furniture and yard waste from residents while also clearing the streets, sidewalks, alleyways, and parks of debris, trash, and tall grass.

A total of 56 tons was collected throughout the week, compared to 60 tons collected during last year’s cleanup.

“I want to thank our incredible Public Works team and City Council for their dedicated efforts in keeping our city clean. Collecting 56 tons of bulk garbage and debris in the North Ward- compared to last year’s 60 tons- is a testament to the hard work of our Public Works team,’ Mayor Reed Gusciora stated. “As we prepare for the Clean- Up Initiative in the East Ward, I encourage all resident to join in and help us build on this success. Together, we can ensure our communities are safe, clean, and thriving for everyone.”

This week, the Clean Up Initiative began in the East Ward on Monday, August 12 and will end Saturday, August 17. Like the North Ward on Saturday, Public Works will pick up bulk household garbage (furniture, yard waste) from East Ward residents (see map and street list below). Please NO electronics waste, chemicals, or construction debris. For electronic items and paint, residents can call 609-989-3175.
