Mercer County Executive Benson Presents Vision of Partnership & Investment in Capital City at Chamber Event

Trenton, NJ – Mercer County Executive Dan Benson spoke Wednesday at the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Trenton Economic Development Series on the morning of July 21st at Cooper’s Riverview in Trenton.

Addressing an audience of over 150 local business leaders, County Executive Benson presented plans for several major projects and initiatives that will promote economic expansion in the Capital City.

Topics of discussion included plans to boost tourism with the Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary and a new Office of Travel & Tourism, the Trenton-Mercer Airport Terminal Replacement Project, Renovations to the Trenton Ballpark and other waterfront improvements including the Trenton Wharf Park Project, the South Broad Street Vision Plan for redevelopment of the South Broad Street corridor, working through the Mercer County Improvement Authority to support residential housing development in blighted neighborhoods, and expanding the Minority & Women Set Aside program to bolster diversity in government procurement and contracting.

“We’re on the precipice of an exciting time here in Mercer County, with our rich history allowing us to play a central role in the 250th Anniversary of our nation, the upcoming improvements to Trenton-Mercer Airport, and key stakeholders committed to revitalization and investment in our Capital City and our county,” said County Executive Benson. “These plans create positive momentum for all of us, and we’re going to keep building on that momentum in the years ahead.”
