Empowerment House Announces Anger Management for Returning Citizens

On Wednesday, August 7th, the Empowerment House will be hosting Anger Management Sessions for the returning citizens community. Please do be aware that this workshop is specifically intended for returning citizens who have re-emerged into society following incarceration within the last three years. The upcoming workshop will take place from 5pm to 8pm at Mercer County Community College’s James Kerney Campus, located at 102 N. Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08608. This program is free and accessible to the community thanks to the support of Empowerment House and the City of Trenton’s Office of Returning Citizens. If you are unable to make it to the upcoming installment, not to worry – workshops are held periodically, so be certain to stay tuned for more future sessions.

While the upcoming session is completely free to attend, please note that advanced registration is required. For those planning on coming out to the upcoming workshop, please register in advance by completing the following form: Register – Empowerment House. From identifying your triggers to cultivating impactful coping mechanisms, anger management can be a powerful tool in overcoming negative emotions and keeping our composure in even the most trying of circumstances. Although it’s impossible to say what life may throw our way, when we have a toolkit of proven skills at our disposal, we are empowered to overcome any obstacles that may come our way.

If you’re a returning citizen, you may have questions about what lies ahead. From finding employment to housing and everything in between, navigating the re-entry process can no doubt come with a unique series of challenges and opportunities. However, no matter where this journey leads you, know that you are not at it alone. The City of Trenton’s Office of Returning Citizens was established in 2019 to offer Trenton’s returning citizens a helping hand in reacclimatizing to the community. From employment opportunities to educational resources and much more, these resources play a vital role in getting back on your feet and establishing a brighter future ahead.
