Mercer County to Participate in Trenton Young Professionals Networking Event

The Mercer County Department of Economic Development and the Mercer County Office of Communications & Intergovernmental Affairs will participate in a roundtable organized by the Trenton Young Professionals Network. The event will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, July 18th at Much Better Studios in downtown Trenton.

The event is geared towards start-ups and early stage entrepreneurs, educating business owners on government programs and opportunities which may help them to jump start their businesses.

The topics of discussion will include the importance of incorporation, the benefits of being designated by the state as a woman, veteran, or minority-owned business, and the various grants, services, and low interest loans provided by government directly to businesses.

“When I was elected, we committed Mercer County to being a force for innovation,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “I welcome every opportunity I have to work with startups and young entrepreneurs and help propel their ideas to success. Innovation can happen anywhere and we must support innovators in the Capital City and across all of Mercer County.”

“Mercer County government has a clear commitment to Trenton and to the talented individuals we have working to revitalize the economy in our Capital City,” said Trenton City Councilwoman Jasi Edwards, one of the event organizers. “The future is now and with partners like Mercer County, I have great confidence that we can accomplish real change.”
