Take It To The Streets Block Parties Return for Summer 2024
When the summertime rolls around, block parties are a time-honored tradition in cities all throughout the United States. Beyond just a get-together, the block party is a fun-filled opportunity for neighborhoods to come together, collaborate, and celebrate the shared places they call home. From tasty food and fare to music, games, and more, block parties have long been heralded as the perfect conduit for community connection. Now back for 2024, the City of Trenton has returned with this year’s Take It To The Streets Block Parties, and this year’s bashes are sure to be better than ever!
The City of Trenton recently announced the return of their Take It To The Streets Neighborhood Block Party initiative, which will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Some featured activities at this year’s celebrations include football, games, basketball, volleyball, skateboarding, face painting, and more. This year’s schedule boasts a jam-packed calendar of celebrations, including the following upcoming events:
- Monday, July 15th – Agabati Square, Roebling and Whittaker, in partnership with the Latino Merchants Association
- Wednesday, July 17th – 899 Southard Street, in partnership with the Trenton Community Street Team
- Monday, July 22nd – 22 Rider Avenue, in partnership with Rush Crossing Apartments
- Wednesday, July 24th – Monsignor Lipinski Park
- Monday, July 29th – W. State Street and Perdicaris Place, in partnership with the Smith Family Foundation
- Wednesday, July 31st – Unity Square Park
- Monday, August 5th – 212 Centre Street, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County
- Wednesday, August 7th – 794 E. State Street, in partnership with CYO East State St.
- Monday, August 12th – 431 Pennington Avenue, in collaboration with the Capital Area YMCA
- Wednesday, August 14th – E. Paul and MLK Blvd., in partnership with Sprout U School of the Arts
- BONUS: Friday, August 16th – 415 Calhoun Street, in partnership with Cycle Kings
- Monday, August 19th: St. Joes and Sherman Avenue, in partnership with East Trenton Collaborative
- Wednesday, August 21st – Landing Street (between 2nd and 3rd street)
Take It To The Streets Block Parties are presented by the City of Trenton’s Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, and Culture. Beyond block parties, this department offers Trentonians a wide array of opportunities for education, recreation, and enrichment in their local community.
