NJ State Library to Host “Introduction to Finding Grants”

For those in the non-profit and fundraising world, grants are the name of the game. Chances are, many of the social programs and initiatives held near and dear to your community were funded through carefully curated grant dollars. Often a non-restrictive and accessible avenue of funding, grant opportunities offer non-profits and other organizations the chance to access the capital needed to bring important projects and programs to life. But what is a grant, and how do you get started? If you’re looking to grasp the world of grants but aren’t sure where to begin, the New Jersey State Library has you covered with their upcoming webinar,  Introduction to Finding Grants.

On Tuesday, July 9th, the New Jersey State Library will walk guests through the ins and outs of the grant-seeking process with “Introduction to Finding Grants”. This compelling conversation will kick off at 12:00pm on Zoom. As this is a virtual webinar, guests have the ability to tune in remotely and will not be required to be physically present at the New Jersey State Library. Your host for the afternoon will be a subject matter expert from the New Jersey State Library, who will walk guests through the most vital aspects of identifying, applying for, and obtaining grants.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to cover the most vital aspects of the grant making process, including:

  • Who funds nonprofits and what are their motivations.
  • What do funders really want to know about the organizations they are interested in funding.
  • How do you identify potential funders and make the first approach.

Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Foundation Directory database, a one-stop shop for funding-related resources. All those who participate in the webinar will receive a 48-hour log-in credential to the Foundation Directory, offering participants a hands-on opportunity to see all that this comprehensive database has to offer. For more information on the Foundation Directory and other resources compiled by the New Jersey State Library, please check out their Funding Information Center, linked here: F.I.C. – NJSL.
