Kids To Parks Day Returns to Trenton

Parks are the heartbeat of our communities. From the little ones running wild on the playground to a friendly game of basketball with the neighbors, playing at the local park helps community come alive. When a break from the hustle and bustle of city life is in order, parks and recreational areas are a vital resource which empowers us to disconnect from the noise and enjoy a moment of respite in nature. For visitors young and old, this timeless truth remains: parks are the perfect place to spend a day having fun in the sun. In honor of the profound positive impact parks play in the lives of our city’s youth, the City of Trenton invites you to be a part of this year’s Kids To Parks Day celebration.

On Saturday, May 18th, the City of Trenton invites you and your family to come out for an afternoon of fun at Kids to Parks Day. The celebration will take place from 2pm to 5pm at Unity Square Park, located at the corners of Hamilton Avenue and Chestnut Avenue. In the case of inclement weather, the festivities will be pushed to the following day on Sunday, May 19th. The day will feature a number of physical activities to help you engage with your local parks, including rock climbing, volleyball, soccer, music, games, and more. There will also be refreshments provided to help you stayed fueled through this action-packed day of fun. The event is free to attend and is certain to be a blast for kids of all ages and stages.

Kids To Parks Day is a national initiative presented by the National Park Trust. Each year, on the third Saturday of May, this celebration connects families with local, state, and national parks in their areas. Kids To Parks Day festivities offer families the chance to participate in a number of engaging recreational activities in the great outdoors. From coast to coast, kids throughout America will have the opportunity to take advantage of all the fun their local parks have to offer.
