Get Ready for November’s Freedom Fridays
The end of November is almost upon it, and with it comes a whole slew of celebrations. From sitting down with your family for a Thanksgiving feast to hitting the sales on Black Friday, there is much to anticipate in the weeks to come. And if you’re still hungry for fun after your Turkey Day celebrations, then make your way down to the Capital City for the Trenton City Museum’s November installment of Freedom Fridays.
November’s Freedom Fridays will begin on Friday, November 24th at 7pm at the Trenton City Museum, located at 299 Parkside Ave., Trenton, NJ 08606. If you plan on attending, the museum, conveniently located at the heart of Cadwalader Park, offers plenty of free and accessible parking to visitors. Admission for this event is a $5 donation, which will go towards continuing to advance and uplift the dedicated work of the Trenton Museum Society. In addition to a donation, guests wanting to give a bit more this holiday season are invited to participate in a Toys for Tots toy drive. If you wish to donate, please come prepared with a small new, unwrapped toy for children in need. Other accepted donations include hats, hoodies, socks, gloves, mittens, and other cold-weather essentials. With the season of giving officially upon us, this event offers families an easy and effective way to spread the love this holiday season.
Freedom Fridays is a celebration of creativity, inviting a gifted group of guests to take to the stage and show off their talents. From poets to performers of music, dance, and more, all are welcome to show off your skills. If you do plan on performing, please plan on arriving a few minutes earlier to sign up for your slot. The featured performer for this month’s festivities is Rev. Lavetta Hall, whose words will no doubt stir your thoughts as well as your heart. With such an array of talent on display, you will not want to miss the opportunity to bear witness to this dynamic event.
If you aren’t planning on performing, no need to worry – there is still plenty of fun in store for you as well! You can, of course, sit back, relax, and enjoy as fellow guests perform their talents of choice. You can also take a stroll through the Trenton City Museum, where a number of fascinating exhibits are always on display. Finally, if your Black Friday shopping needs a little extra dose of fun, the Trenton City Museum’s gift shop will be open to explore. With countless discoveries waiting around every corner, both performers and audiences alike are certain to have an unforgettable evening.
