Support is Available at Mercer County’s Family Success Centers
If you’re a parent in the City of Trenton, many resources are available to help you and your family prosper. One such resource is Trenton’s Family Success Centers, a “one-stop” shop for wrap-around resources for children, youth, and families. The Department of Children and Families has designated Family Success Centers as a comprehensive center for support to help families thrive and prevent crises from occurring. Family Success Centers represent the combined efforts of concerned community members, leaders, residents, and community agencies, all converging to aid needy families. These centers seek to provide families with a warm, safe environment that offers family-friendly activities and services to support the family unit.
The core services of Family Success Centers include:
- Access to information on child, maternal, and family health services, economic self-sufficiency, and job readiness
- Information and referral services (connection to off-site public and private resources)
- Life skills training
- Housing services
- Parent education
- Parent-child activities
- Advocacy
Trenton is the host of both of Mercer County’s Family Success Centers. Locations in the city include:

- Heritage South Family Success Center of CHS of NJ (635 S. Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08611)
Mercer County’s centers are run by the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey. Since its founding in 1894, the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey has sought to strengthen families by protecting children from harm and aiding adults to become more vital parents.
