The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce and Greater Trenton will present The Economic Recovery Act and Its Impact on the Capital City as part of the Trenton Economic Development Series on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Trenton Country Club (201 Sullivan Way, West Trenton, NJ).
New Jersey’s Economic Recovery Act (“ERA”) is a multi-faceted program to encourage new housing and business opportunities throughout the state and it has the potential to have an incredible impact in Trenton. Panelists will share their thoughts on the how the program can be effectively utilized in the Capital City and talk about how they can be leveraged to drive economic growth.
“The Economic Recovery Act has the potential to have an incredible impact on the business community in our City of Trenton, said Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber President & CEO Hal English. “We are so looking forward to hearing from the Mayor and panelists and their thoughts on leveraging resources to drive economic growth.”
City of Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora will provide opening remarks; NJEDA Chief Executive Officer Tim Sullivan will provide the keynote address; and panelists will include C. Andre Daniels, Director of Housing and Economic Development, City of Trenton; Diana Rogers, Sr. Community Development Officer, NJEDA; and George Sowa, Chief Executive Officer, Greater Trenton. The event will be moderated by Julie Krause, Senior Advisor of Special Projects, Office of the State Treasurer, N.J. State Capital Partnership.
“We’re excited to come together in-person and partner with the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber on this important series,” said Sowa. “While the ERA provides benefits throughout the state, Trenton is one of three cities in the entire state that qualifies for the highest level of benefits. We will address how the program can be utilized and also highlight the many significant enhancements that benefit Trenton since the ERA was first announced last year. It is our goal to work with many local and regional developers to utilize the ERA to create new housing, businesses and jobs in Trenton as we seize on the tremendous opportunities in front of us.”
Last year, Greater Trenton hosted its Capital City Economic Outlook webinar which focused attention on the Economic Recovery Act and potential development opportunities in Trenton. A wide range of people in attendance — including government officials, business leaders, clergy, community members, real estate brokers, developers, investors, architects, engineers and attorneys — learned about how these state incentives can be utilized to advance New Jersey’s Capital City.
