TASK is sponsoring its last work drive today, partnering with UPS to provide the final Job Fair Drive of the year. The work drive begins at 10:30 a.m. and TASK representatives will be helping applicants until 1:00 p.m., though it may go later depending on the volume. 

“We have UPS coming in to hold the shop there. They are hiring for part-time positions…They also are providing transportation,” Tammy Claridy, a job search specialist at TASK, said. “The UPS Job is paying $11 for the first week of training and, after that, will pay $18.50 an hour for seasonal workers.” 

The team that set up this work drive specializes in creating job opportunities within the city of Trenton. “We have a great team. Work preparedness is the official title, but we go by job search…and I have a great team of job search specialists and a job coach assistant,” Mia Hart, Manager of Adult Education and Work Preparedness at TASK, said. 

They work with companies within the area to match jobs to workers who come to TASK looking for help. “Over the years,” Hart said. “We’ve had Amazon, Burlington, a plethora of staffing agencies, primarily within the logistics manufacturing industry.” 

TASK’s website explains that their on-site program provides free personal career counseling, career readiness, and life skills training. They also offer support services to help students and patrons transition to college, job-training programs, and employment. The team helps make resumes, edit cover letters, and figuring where people belong in the workforce.  The representative also works with patrons to establish a work history, talk about employment for those with criminal records, and then see success in helping them land a full-time job.
