The City of Trenton Celebrated Pride with Cocktails & Conversation

Last night, June 16, Trentonians celebrated LGBTQ+ pride at Trenton Social.

LGBTQ+ leaders and allies mingled from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during a night of discussion, music and refreshments, to honor Pride month and equality in the Capital City. Featured speakers included event organizer Kadja Manuel, the LGBTQ+ Committee Chair of the Trenton Branch NAACP and Executive Assistant and Community Organizer with Garden State Equality, Trenton Mayor W. Reed Gusciora, Councilwoman Marge Caldwell-Wilson, Crystal Feliciano, North Ward District 5 Committeewoman and CEO of Steven Cook, CEO of The Arch Mercer. George Sowa, CEO of Greater Trenton was onsite to support the event.

Throughout the night, New Jersey’s largest and first HIV service provider, Hyacinth, provided HIV/STD testing free of charge to attendees in support of safe sexuality amongst the LGBTQ+ community. Thanks to the City of Trenton, the J&J one-dose COVID-19 vaccine was also offered onsite at the celebration from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The night was made possible by Garden State Equality, The Arc Mercer, One Simple Wish and The City of Trenton.
