30th Annual Mill Hill Garden Tour Next Weekend

30th Annual Mill Hill Garden Tour Next Weekend

About 15 gardens and public spaces in the Mill Hill neighborhood will open their garden gates for this year’s 30th Annual Garden Tour next weekend. Residents are invited to come look behind the house facades and see the unique gardens and private outdoor spaces of the neighborhood.

Taking place on June 12 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, this year’s tour is run and organized by the Old Mill Hill Society and the residents of the Mill Hill community. The tour will start from Artworks, Trenton’s downtown visual arts center at 19 Everett Alley and South Stockton Street.

For 30 years residents of Trenton’s Mill Hill Neighborhood have been opening their gardens to visitors, garden enthusiasts and architecture buffs. The thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces combine nature and city living while adding residents’ own style.

The neighborhood, composed primarily of 19th century row houses, welcomes guests in person to experience this memorable self-guided walking tour. In past years, hundreds of guests from throughout the region have attended.

The annual Garden Tour and Holiday House Tour celebrate the vibrant Mill Hill community and raise funds to support historic preservation in the neighborhood. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at trentonmillhill.org/events, where there is also information on parking and transit. Tour participants can also find more information and updates about special features for this year’s tour on Facebook and Instagram.

This year’s tour will operate in accordance with CDC guidance and State of NJ regulations regarding Covid-19. Tickets will be timed to limit capacity and better facilitate social distancing.

Advanced tickets are available for the top of every hour. Visitors without advanced tickets will only be accommodated on the half hour. Children under 12 are free. Masks are required at check-in, while visiting gardens, and whenever physical distancing is not possible.
